Essential HTM overview

This course can count towards the registration requirements to become an Authorising Engineer (AE) with the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management (IHEEM).

This course is aimed at aspiring and newly appointed estates officers in estates and facilities departments who are involved in building or engineering operation or maintenance, including the management of contracted out services. It may also be appropriate for experienced Facilities/soft FM managers who have taken on responsibility for the hard FM operation and require some knowledge of the roles undertaken by estates officers.

The course is aimed at Middle/Senior Managers who are responsible for waste management.

Estates Officers with operational roles, who may be required to manage backlog maintenance items that fall within a Trust’s Capital funding category. Alternatively, recently appointed Capital Projects Managers involved in the delivery of an NHS Trust Capital Programme.

Delegates will acquire a better understanding of the scope of the PAM and leave with the skills to better manage the PAM process, from completion of the return, to audit and review processes. This course is aimed at estates managers, operational directors, those responsible PAM assessments and audits.

This course will be delivered by our trainer via Microsoft Teams. Learners will receive invitations for the Teams session ahead of the event and learning resources will be delivered to a location requested by the booker before the course start date. Learners will acquire a better understanding of the scope of the PAM and leave with the skills to better manage the PAM process, from completion of the return, to audit and review processes.

During this 1-day course learners will acquire a clear understanding of the principles of energy and sustainability management, helping them to deliver effective programmes of work and significant efficiency savings. The course will focus on a range of topic areas including: utilities procurement and management, technological efficiency improvements, the development of a Trust green plan, as well as the implementation of a Staff behavioural change programme.

This one day course will introduce learners to PFI contract and relationship management and they will leave with a toolkit of pointers and areas of focus to aid them in managing their PFI contracts when they return to work. This course is aimed at Estates Managers, Directors and those responsible for PFI contracts and strategic managers.

This course is suitable for individuals who may be new to healthcare engineering, apprentices, or anyone wanting to gain an understating of the different healthcare engineering disciplines.

Learners will gain access to a unique insight on PFI contract fundamentals and relationship management, ensuring that all will leave with an enhanced understanding and a toolkit of skills and areas of focus to improve the commercial management of their PFI contracts, along with a knowledge of key pointers that will deliver improved performance and efficiency of their PFI contract.

The aim of the course is to bring a range of healthcare professionals together to consider the Facilities Management related risks that NHS Trust face that could impact on the resilience of their service delivery. Delegates will be walked through the legislative and operational context within which they operate such that they are best able to assess their risks and develop business continuity plans to support organisations recover in the event of an incident.

This Course offers a model, akin to the HTM Engineering Guidance, that will give organisations a Robust Assurance Framework in which to operate in; and familiarise Soft FM Leaders with the HTM Guidance, better equipping them for future roles managing wider portfolios.

The aim of the course is to describe the wide estates portfolio, the responsibilities associated with it, how to achieve assurance and to develop an action plan to improve safety, resilience and accountability

This Course offers a model, drawn from HTM-00, that will give organisations a Robust Assurance Framework in which to operate in and the use of Safety Cases to manage risks as low as reasonably practicable .

Starting with board accountability, the course will cumulatively build each preceding session offering the candidates a system approach to the management of safety, mapped to HTM principles of Safety Committees and the roles of AEs, APs and CPs that GMS already use
