Nurse MGPS (HTM 02)

This course is for staff whose duties include the installation and maintenance of medical gas pipeline systems. It is particularly relevant for those who are (or will be) designated Competent Persons in a healthcare organisation or are employees of contractors performing such works.

The course is also suitable for compliance manager who need a management overview.

This course is for those who intend to have a hands-on involvement or require greater practical skills to maintain, repair and fault find on medical gas equipment.

The course is for existing Authorised and Competent Persons (Medical Gas) who require a greater understanding and practical knowledge of medical gas alarm systems. Includes the installation commissioning and retrofitting of the new generation of digital medical gas alarm systems and covers the installation, commissioning, repair and fault finding of commonly used medical gas systems in accordance with HTM 02-01.

This course is for existing Quality Controller (MGPS) Pharmacists who are currently on the national QC register and who require medical gas CPD and assessment for re-registration on the UK national register. The course is activity-based, involving both table top exercises and hands on practical. Sharing experiences is a key part of the learning process.

This course is for staff employed in EBME departments with responsibility for manufacturing medical gas hoses on-site. It is also suited to healthcare personnel who also inspect, test and replace medical gas hoses.

This course is for technicians who are involved with the installation, repair and routine maintenance of ambulance medical gas systems.

This course is for those taking on the role of Authorised Person (MGPS), with responsibility for the safe operation, installation and maintenance of medical gas pipeline systems. The course is for those with little or no prior knowledge of medical gas pipeline systems and includes a significant proportion of practical work. Theory alongside practical teaching is a fundamental part of the course, including the setting up, operation and modification of the live medical gas system at Eastwood Park.
